Mass Awareness & Show the kindness of Humans of Bitcoin around the world through the vlogs that will be shared on my youtube channel. The world is a kind place.
Update - run 21 countries in 400 days! 19 more to go
Namaste Bitcoin Family,
If you don't follow the news, you are uninformed.
If you follow the news, you are misinformed - Mark Twain
With a heart filled with joy, we as a team bitcoin have traveled to 21 countries using Bitcoin.
Thank you to you all for supporting and blessing this journey, by contributing Sats to Energy to Hosting to sharing time, all of this made this journey a reality.
Along the way, I took in my learnings some key observations that made me bullish on Bitcoin like never before.
The youth have strong communities with a determined vision all around the world.
It's totally possible to travel purely on Bitcoin. I was able to use Bitcoin in all 21 countries. Was able to do p2p trades and get fiats moving around whenever needed. We aren’t a kid anymore. We are full-blown adults
The countries I have traveled to are - India, UAE, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Kenya, El Salvador, Uganda, Rwanda, Uganda, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Botswana, Zambia, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Cameroon, South Sudan, Ethiopia
Starting during the peak of 55,000 $ the journey had support from various Bitcoin Plebs and companies. Many plebs chose to be anonymous, which proved that there is Magic in this Internet Money 😀. People contributed without expectation of any fame or reward, just for the pure love of the message. This filled my heart with love, joy, hope and a bright future for the entire humanity. We are all gonna make it. There’s too much love for Bitcoin to fail anymore
The companies that supported the journey were :
Lmnl - Not your keys Not your Coins
Bittrefill -
Paxful
Foundation Devices
I personally have stopped calling Maxi's maxis, given the current turn of events with altcoins going bust. A Bitcoiner is a bitcoiner. Some are already there, some are on their path to reach there. But eventually, everybody reaches there. You don’t need to be a gold maxi to understand why gold had retained value for thousands of years. Same with Bitcoin.
Bitcoiners are kind humans, they hosted me , took care of me , fed me , and guided me on the way forward . I learnt that most bitcoiners are 80 % aligned on everything and easy to gel with.
We all are aware of shitcoins, and we are out there shouting, “buy bitcoin and ignore the noise”. But dawn always breaks through the darkest of nights.
While I sincerely thank all the centralized exchanges that extended their support to me along the journey, “trusted third parties are security holes”. The entire point of Bitcoin is to be your own sovereign, save your own tribe, take responsibility, and hold your own keys. While Bitcoin banks are probably the answer to many of the financial use cases, we lose the movement personally, if we can’t save ourselves with the magic of self custody Bitcoin provides. It has only turned into a 13-year-old teenager, and we are slowly learning.
Over my journey, I found the value in being grateful, happy, and content and the amount of luxury I have in my own personal life has never been more clear before. There are parts of the world where electricity, water, basic food, safety and security are not granted. People fight for them every day. While the whole “Bitcoin Industry” is mostly a first-world phenomenon, the true value of the revolution lies on the bottom pits of the world. It doesn’t matter much what fancy DeFi apps we build on Bitcoin, if Bitcoin doesn’t make lives of the rest of 6 billion better, we have lost the plot.
But no matter how difficult the batter seems. I have seen the fire in the eyes of young people of this world. And the hope. And I know this is a battle they (we) will either win or die trying. There’s no turning back to a better world. Its on us to make the world better for our future generations.
I was able to host 62 meetups in 21 countries and I learnt that regional language is the best way to connect with your local plebs. We as plebs should personally take up the initiative of creating content audio visual meetup in regional languages and share it around.
Education is the way forward. But I also tried to share some stats with those who were learning along with me. Showing how it works, and making them understand that this can be used like money is the first step to make people realize how they can use it and feed themselves. Bitcoin is a feeling.
Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man fishing, and he will eat for life.
I was able to use staoshis and get , Haircut , tuk tuk , flight tickets, RTPCR Test , Scuba Diving , Bus tickets, guides, trekking drinking shopping etc with using Bitocin. All of this being shared on PAco De la India youtube channel. During the meetups , I shared Sats with the community and new enthusiast.
I have a dream, correction, WE have a dream of traveling to 40 countries in 400 days by using bitcoin , hosting meetups for awareness and ultimately to show “Humans of Bitcoin” are kind.
We were able to travel 21 countries. And would love to travel to 19 other countries and spread the gospel of Bitcoin. We need to make Satoshi proud. And I won’t rest until he is.
Would be lovely to meet/greet/partner/collab, with Bitcoin Companies and you plebs, wherever you are in the world. And affirm our dream and vision. Bitcoin is here, Bitcoin is money, and Bitcoin will fix everything.
Ideas, suggestions, connections, love and hugs. That's how this journey is fueled. 21 done, many more to go.
Love you and thank you all for everything.
Love
Paco De La India.
Soft Cap - Initially it is 1 BTC, once achieved, it would need more support & the Softcap will be updated.
Note:- The route plan is only tentative, as with many things in the street, I will be updating my travel plans in real-time, depending upon support, feasibility as well as Covid entry restriction in various countries.
- If you live in a thriving bitcoin community around your local neighborhood, shout at me, I am actively looking for places to hit. I will vlog about your community and we will do a run together.🙂
I will be doing this entire journey with the support of the community through contributions Here's my rough estimate of how much it will cost to sustain myself on the road:
- Travel Cost:
In 2013 I was introduced to Couchsurfing and I started hosting over 25 travelers from all over the world in 1 little room in Muscat, Oman. They taught me about Sabbatical, and I jumped right away.
In 2015, I quit my job, and with only $7000 in my pocket, thinking I will take a 6-month sabbatical, next thing you know 24 countries later, it’s been 1200 days. I went about running in over 250 cities. I really love running and eating. I guess it’s just the right mix. Run eat Repeat.
I had couchsurfed with over 350 families during my journey.
2015 - I started my travels from India to Indonesia to Papua New Guinea
2016 - I ran out of money in 6 months but had just landed in the USA, so I kept moving, volunteering, doing small jobs, and continued traveling coast to coast from San Francisco to Miami.
2016 - I then went through Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala. I was a volunteer at a school in Guatemala for 3 weeks.
2017 - I was teaching English in Colombia, Dumpster Diving in Ecuador, Selling peanuts in Peru.
As such, I was bartering my way throughout the journey. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Couch Surfing Community and the lovely people I met throughout my journey. I have plenty of stories to share. As of now, I share 3 stories/ week on my Instagram channel – www.instagram.com/runeverycity
2019 - I was a waiter in various cities in India, then sold milk and chicken for an E-commerce website. I quit the job to be a caddy to a golfer.
2020 - I started the journey of Vlogging i.e. Paco de la India and sold masks, gloves & cigarettes during the Lockdown.
2021 - I trekked to Everest Base Camp, Nepal – once in a lifetime experience and started a drop service business to assist folks around the country with videos, logos, websites, etc.
2021 – A real good friend gave me “The Bitcoin Standard” to read and it just opened my eyes as to what is happening around us. I really related to this and was inspired to do my part.
Well on August 25th,2021 I started planning the Project of RUN WITH BITCOIN. To travel around 40 countries in 400 days.
Thank you, everyone. Hugs, Paco
This journey will only be possible with the support of the Bitcoin community spread around the World.
Really appreciate and am grateful to everyone who lent helping hands so far to making this "Run with Bitcoin" a reality.
Your Blessing will go a long way. So how about just smiling and let the magic unfold.
Gracias, Danke, Merci, Dhanywad, Shukran, Asante, Arkun, Thank you
